Internalizing Birgit Zartl.

Vienna born Birgit Zartl has studied psychology and has worked in the neurological department, specializing in cognitive behavioural therapy, therapy through art and chromatics, before she became the artist she is today. Her studies are closely related to her work, since she manages to approach the unconscious and the darker parts of the human psyche. Most frequently she chooses to paint landscapes and waterscapes employing both canvas and paper making use of all sorts of different techniques. In her work the outside world of  bridges, buildings, relics, skylines, and very frequently reflecting light  becomes internalized and transcends into a long forgotten realm of magic.
