There
is not much to say about Diane Arbus that hasnt be said already. One of
the most controversial and most brilliant photographers of the 20th
century, New Yorker Diane Arbus has contributed a completely unique view
to the art of taking pictures. Unlike most people at her time, much
like today, she did not care about photographing conventional beauty and
fashion, which she resented even when she shot it for a job at the
beginnings and before she could finally devote herself to what she
really wanted to shoot. A world deviant, marginal, considered ugly to
most but to her magically surreal. Even though it has been said that
giving a camera to Diane Arbus is like putting a live grenade in the
hands of a child, it is impossible to imagine a pair of hands better
suited for handing a camera.
